What a timeout on a Torzon link actually means
A timeout is a symptom with three possible causes. The trick is ruling them out without guessing.
Test another onion service
Load a well-known onion such as a large news site. If that also times out, your Tor connection is the bottleneck.
Retry after a short pause
Busy services drop new connections during traffic spikes. Waiting two or three minutes often works better than refreshing ten times.
Look for a status note
If a checked source marks the Torzon link as under maintenance, the timeout is expected and no amount of retrying will help.
Treat long silence as a signal
An address that times out for days while checked mirrors work has probably been retired. Move to a verified mirror instead of searching for a new one.
If other onions load and checked mirrors work, a Torzon link that keeps timing out is likely retired.
